Horde Defenders Scrap, Gems, and Boosters

Spend alpha currencies so manual-aim defenses get stronger every redeem and every clear.

Economy Guide

Horde Defenders runs on three currencies players actually feel: Scrap, Gems, and timed Boosters. Codes dump all three into your account early; campaign kills refill Scrap during runs; Gems stay rarer. Because the experience is solo-focused (server size 1) and still in alpha, every bad spend is yours alone — and every smart redeem compounds into better high-ground guns.

Use this page after you open Codes and Getting Started. Tower priorities live on the Towers Guide and Early-Game Tier List.

Scrap — the workhorse

Scrap pays for placing and upgrading towers. It is the currency that turns a barren pad into a Sentry line with Barricades in front. Sources:

  • Bug kills during campaign, Challenges, and Endless
  • Promo codes (especially GIBILOSTHISSCRAP and PART1 in the October 2026 list)
  • Occasional event or makeup drops while Horizon iterates the alpha

Scrap spending order that works

  1. One elevated Sentry covering the natural path.
  2. Barricade or Barbed Wire so packs linger in your aim cone.
  3. Upgrades on that same cone (range/damage/firerate — whatever the live UI exposes).
  4. Howitzer or Railgun when elites start walking through.
  5. Tar Lobber when tracking fails because bugs exit the pocket too fast.
  6. Buffer Scrap before bosses so you can react mid-fight.

Avoid inventing a second unfinished base across the map. Manual aim cannot babysit two distant lanes. High Ground multiplies every Scrap point you already spent.

Gems — spend slowly

Gems are the premium-leaning currency. Code bundles like GIBILOSTHISSCRAP (50 Gems) and IMAGEISAWESOME (trackers usually list 20 Gems; verify in-game) are meaningful head starts. Use Gems for:

  • Unlocks you will still want after a balance patch
  • Quality-of-life that shortens practice loops
  • Avoiding panic buys on soft-reported towers you have not seen yet

Do not dump Gems into speculative trees the moment a YouTube short names seven heroes. Official copy still lists Warden, Marksman, and Sentinel only (Heroes Guide). Alpha tech tree refunds have been discussed in community coverage — keep Gem plans reversible (Alpha Status).

Boosters — timed focus windows

October 2026 codes include 30-minute, 1-hour, and 2-hour boosters (IMAGEISAWESOME, BIGCODE, LAUNCH, GIBILOSTHISSCRAP, PART1). Boosters amplify productive play; they do nothing if you AFK in the lobby.

Good booster sessions

  • Clear a stubborn campaign level on the Campaign Guide path
  • Drill aim for twenty minutes using How to Aim
  • Push a focused Endless attempt (Endless Mode)
  • Test one hero possess loop with towers already holding the gate

Bad booster sessions

  • Redeeming then browsing the shop without a plan
  • Starting Endless while learning basic tracking
  • Stacking every booster at once with no Scrap left to spend the advantage

Code priority for the economy

From the active October 2026 list on Codes:

PriorityCodeWhy
1GIBILOSTHISSCRAPBest Scrap + Gem payout with a 1h booster
2PART1Long 2h booster + large Scrap (amount varies by tracker — redeem to confirm)
3SORRYDreadnought + Stormcaller skins; claim before it expires
4IMAGEISAWESOME / BIGCODE / LAUNCHFill remaining booster windows

Redeem steps: How to Redeem. Fake lists that invent FREEGEMS2024-style strings waste time — see Where to Find Codes.

Economy inside a single run

During a match, think in waves:

  • Open — place the minimum viable elevated gun + stall.
  • Mid — upgrade the cone that is working; add splash or armor shred when leaks show a pattern.
  • Boss / spike — spend the Scrap buffer; call strikes from the Abilities Guide into stacked Barricade pockets.
  • Lull — repair Wire/Barricade before vanity towers.

Endless scoring rewards sustained economy discipline more than a single lucky Howitzer shot.

Alpha caveats

  • Reward amounts on third-party sites can disagree (PART1 Scrap, IMAGEISAWESOME Gems). Trust the redeem popup.
  • Horizon may refund or rework progression systems; flexible cores beat brittle Gem sinks.
  • No official Discord means economy news usually lands on the Roblox group or in-game — not random invite links.

Treat Scrap like ammunition for the cone you can aim, Gems like irreversible choices, and Boosters like calendar blocks you actually show up for.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers to the most common Horde Defenders questions.

What currencies does Horde Defenders use?

Scrap for placing and upgrading towers, Gems for rarer unlocks, and timed Boosters that speed productive sessions.

Which code should I redeem first for Scrap?

GIBILOSTHISSCRAP is the strongest Scrap and Gem bundle on the October 2026 list, followed by PART1 for a long booster window.

When should I activate a booster?

When you have a concrete goal: a campaign clear, aim drill, or Endless push with Scrap ready to spend.

Should I spend Gems as soon as I get them?

No. Keep Gem plans flexible while the alpha can refund or rework progression. Buy lasting unlocks you already understand.

Why do trackers disagree on PART1 Scrap?

Some list about 5,000 Scrap and others about 2,000. Redeem in-game and trust the reward popup; the 2-hour booster is consistently reported.

Does high ground save Scrap?

Yes. Extra range and damage mean the same Scrap buys more effective coverage on elevated pads than on flat spam.
