Horde Defenders Guides Hub

Manual-aim tutorials, tower roles, economy, strikes, campaign pacing, and Endless scoring — all in one place.

Last updated:

Horde Defenders is a manual-aim tower defense on Roblox by Horizon Studios. Towers never auto-target: every shot follows where you point. That single rule changes how you learn the game. Placement still matters, but aim, target priority, and high-ground bonuses decide whether a wave dies at the chokepoint or leaks into the outpost.

This hub is the map for every tutorial on the wiki. Start with Getting Started if you just opened the experience. Move to How to Aim once you can place a Sentry without thinking. Layer High Ground strategy when leaks start happening on mid-campaign maps. Add Heroes Guide when Warden, Marksman, or Sentinel unlock. Study the Towers Guide, Economy Guide, Abilities Guide, and Campaign Guide as you push deeper. Finish with Endless Mode when you want leaderboard runs instead of story clears.

Why these guides exist

Most Roblox tower defenses reward drop-and-forget builds. Horde Defenders rewards players who treat the mouse like a weapon. The campaign spans 59 levels across five alien worlds with bosses, Challenges, Endless leaderboards, and Workshop maps. Currencies are Scrap from kills, Gems for premium progress, and Boosters for timed advantage. The game is solo-focused in alpha, so every decision is yours.

Because the title is still in alpha, UI labels and unlock order can shift. These pages stick to stable systems: manual aim, high-ground range and damage, tower roles, hero possess versus AI, strikes, and Endless scoring. When a community-reported detail is not fully confirmed in-game, we mark it clearly.

Guide map

Day one — Getting Started

Claim codes the moment the Codes button unlocks, place your first Sentries, learn basic tracking, and spend Scrap on upgrades that matter. The page walks a first-session checklist and links how to redeem plus the early-game tier list.

Core skill — How to Aim

Aim is the skill ceiling. You will learn how to track dense bug columns, swap focus to priority targets, and adjust for slow lobbers like Howitzer versus hitscan feel from Sentry and Railgun. Pair this with the controls reference so PC and mobile bindings stay clear.

Map control — High Ground

High ground grants more range and damage. Chokepoints plus Barricade and Barbed Wire layers buy the seconds your aim needs. This guide shows how to stack soft walls, tar, and elevated guns so swarms funnel into kill zones.

Force multipliers — Heroes Guide

Warden, Marksman, and Sentinel can run on AI or under your possession. Strikes — drone strikes, meteors, ripsaws, salvos, stasis fields — punch holes when towers alone are not enough. Use the heroes tier list after you understand each kit.

Endgame grind — Endless Mode

Endless is where comps, Scrap economy, and late-wave sustain separate casual clears from leaderboard climbs. Bring the aim habits and high-ground layouts from earlier guides, then specialize the loadout for infinite pressure.

Roster and resources — Towers, Economy, Abilities, Campaign

Learn confirmed tower roles (including Dreadnought and Stormcaller skins from codes), spend Scrap/Gems/Boosters without panic, time strikes into Barricade pockets, and pace the 59-level / five-world campaign before Endless.

How to use the rest of the wiki

  • Tier List Hub ranks towers and heroes for early and late play.
  • Players Hub deep-dives each hero kit.
  • Codes Hub tracks active rewards; redeem steps live on How to Redeem.
  • Tools Hub and Controls cover input and checklists.
  • Updates logs patch notes as Horizon Studios ships alpha changes.
  • Scripts is listed for awareness; use at your own risk and expect bans if the experience forbids them.
  • Overview and FAQ live on the wiki page.

Suggested learning path

  1. Finish the in-game tutorial, then open Getting Started.
  2. Redeem every working code from Codes.
  3. Drill aim for one short session using How to Aim.
  4. Rebuild one map with High Ground rules.
  5. Unlock and practice one hero via Heroes Guide.
  6. Attempt Endless after campaign comfort — see Endless Mode.

Alpha note: some older community posts mention a tech tree that was refunded or reworked. Treat permanent meta-progression notes as fluid until a patch confirms them. Scrap spent on towers, placement, and aim practice is never wasted.

When you finish a guide, jump to a sibling page instead of bouncing to the home screen. Cross-links on each article keep the path short: aim into high ground, high ground into heroes, heroes into Endless.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers to the most common Horde Defenders questions.

Which Horde Defenders guide should I read first?

Start with Getting Started for codes, first towers, and basic aim. Switch to How to Aim as soon as you can clear early levels without panicking.

Do towers auto-target in Horde Defenders?

No. Towers fire where you aim. Placement sets coverage; your cursor (or touch aim) chooses the target every shot.

Why does high ground matter so much?

Elevated pads grant extra range and damage. Pairing high ground with Barricades and Barbed Wire creates safer kill lanes for manual aim.

Are heroes required to beat the campaign?

You can progress with towers alone early on, but Warden, Marksman, and Sentinel plus strikes make mid and late maps far more consistent.

Is Endless Mode the same as the 59-level campaign?

No. The campaign has fixed levels and bosses across five worlds. Endless focuses on wave survival, scoring, and leaderboards.

Where do I check controls for PC and mobile?

Use the Controls page under Tools Hub for aim, place, upgrade, strikes, and hero possess bindings. Alpha UI may still change.
